During the first lockdown in 2020, we began designing a bag to keep home-bakers loaves fresh for longer. Now praised by those at The BBC, Country Homes & Interiors and Baking Heaven, the Wheat Fields Bread Bag gave us the inspiration to start The Foragers Cottage.
In a world consumed by expendable, 'built-to-break' items - we wanted to make a difference. We design and craft sustainable homewares that are built to last, aim to reduce waste and look beautiful in every home. All items are made using carefully selected ethically sourced materials and take homage to the natural world around us.
Our wooden collection is made exclusively with ethically and sustainably sourced timber. Hand-made by us in the Studio, based in the South Downs National Park and powered by renewable energy, we primarily using British-grown timber from local sawmills, or forage for windfall branches.
We work closely with Fairtrade and organic cotton producers to make sure our cotton items (including bread bags and grocery bags) are made from the highest quality fabric, supporting fair wages across the globe and sustainable textile production.
